These diverse representations of the basilica Notre Dame de la Garde and its dependencies, faithfully reproduced in scale detail, sculptured according to the Provençal santonniers’ technique, are such as we can see them from the Vieux-Port on the blessed hill. Miniature souvenirs of the Basilica and its dependencies created by Joseph, born in Marseille. The presentation of these souvenirs will satisfy everybody, I hope so.

The fragment of ROCK embedded in the base of these souvenirs was taken from the HILL BLESSED of NOTRE-DAME-DE-LA-GARDE,
the BONNE MERE of Inhabitants of Marseille.
We certify the origin of this rock as well as the gilt of fine gold of the Virgin and the child Jesus.
All our models are registered, manufactured in France and hand-made.

PROTECTOR of the sailors and the travelers, the guard of Provence and MARSEILLE, built on the hill of the high "La GARDE" 147,85 m above the sea level, the BASILICA was blessed on September 24th, 1870.

The bumblebee measures 2,40m in diameter and 2,50m in height. It weighs 8 234kgs. And its flap is 387. Its name is MARIE-JOSEPHINE.

The basilica is surmounted by the statue, gilded in the fine gold, of the VIRGIN AND THE CHILD JESUS. It measures 9,70m around the top and weighs 9 796,6kgs, more than the armature and the lower staircase, that is a total weight of 16 387,7kgs.

We can rise to the head to contemplate the wonderful landscape of the city, the sea, the hills, the Islands of Frioul and the Castle, although these views can also be contemplated from the terraces of the basilica.

The church is the work of the architect Henri ESPERENDIEU who was born on 22.02.1829 and died on 11.11.1874.

Indeed, on this BLESSED hill, surmounted by the basilica of N.D de la Garde, concentrated throughout the centuries by the creative strengths and pure thoughts of the millions of pilgrims. Among these pilgrims, who came from around the world, were illuminated by their pilgrimages.They came to be relieved, cured or saved from the the abyss. These numerous worshippers chose her as place of profound worship. Some are sailors who do not go on a journey without asking La Bonne Mère or arrive at the harbor without making a sign of thanks.

In 1943, MARSEILLE was saved from a horrifying bombardment of 400 enemy planes, which accumulated over the city like no clouds had before. .
